Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries

An anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury occurs when the ligament becomes overstretched or completely torn. A tear may be partial or complete depending how severe the injury is.

The most common mechanism of injury occurs during sports when you get hit very hard on the side of your knee, overextension of the knee, or when you quickly stop moving and change direction while running.

Initial symptoms include an audible pop sound at the time of injury, giving way of the knee, swelling within hours and a sudden onset of acute pain, especially with weight bearing activities. ‪#‎ACLinjury‬ ‪#‎kneepain‬ ‪#‎football‬‪#‎chrisjudd‬ ‪#‎osteopathy‬ ‪#‎rehabilitation‬ ‪#‎caseycentralosteo‬
