Sleeping posture and pain

Pain in the middle of the night? Wake up with neck pain or headaches? Getting broken sleep? Sore neck throughout the day? Struggle to turn your head? Have you said YES to these questions?

While there are no rules on what position you should sleep in, here are a few guidelines if you want to get a good nights rest.

1. Lying on your back – the head and neck should be well supported by a contoured pillow to allow the natural curve of your neck to rest.
2. Lying on your side – the head and neck should be positioned in the middle of your shoulders. Generally the pillow height will fill the space in between your neck and shoulders.
3. Tummy sleeping – sleeping on your tummy is not advised simply because this position places too much stress on your neck muscles and joints.
