Privacy policy
The information that we collect from you allows our Osteopathic Practitioner/s to assess your health and provide you with the utmost care possible. Your appointment
To get the most out of your time with your Osteopath, your appointments are set out as a one on one consultation. Please endeavour to attend your scheduled appointment on time, as if you are late this time cannot be made up. It may compromise your appointment to be a shorter time frame, as your Osteopathic Practitioner must remain on time for future appointments within the day.
Treatment of Minors
Legally in Australia, a minor is defined as an individual who is under the age of 18 years of age. However this differs within states – In Victoria the common law states recognises that some individuals under the age of 18 years of age who are considered mature enough to make their own medical decisions may have the capacity to consent to their own medical treatment with their parents knowledge (this is based on Gillick v Wisbech Area Health Authority). In such cases, the decision as to whether or not a minor can attend on their own must be discussed with your Osteopathic Practitioner first. If the minor attends the appointment with a guardian – we will require the guardian to sign and date a consent form on behalf of the patient.
Missed appointments and rescheduling – IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!
We realise that sometimes things occur out of your own control and therefore you have no option but to cancel your appointment at the last minute. However if you know you cannot make your scheduled appointment for whatever reason please give our clinic atleast 24 hours notice for cancellations and rescheduling of appointments. This way we can offer your time slot to those on a waiting list. If less than 24 hours notice is given for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments please be advised that you may incur a cancellation fee of $40 to your account. This fee is not covered by Private health funds or third parties such as Medicare, WorkSafe or TAC. This fee will remain as an outstanding balance on your account, which will require full payment at your next scheduled appointment.
We aim to attain maximum results for your healthcare and we hope that will you will agree to this by attending your scheduled appointment to reach your full health potential. So for those patients who repeatedly miss or cancel appointments, please be advised that you may be regretfully discharged from our Osteopathic care.
Clothing
We highly recommend that you attend your appointment in comfortable loose fitting clothes. The main method of examination and treatment throughout consultations is through the use of our hands on approach. As such, sometimes your Practitioner may request you to partially undress – ONLY if you are comfortable to do so. Open back dressing gowns can also be provided upon request.
Mobile phones
Out of respect of others having treatment within the same building, we would appreciate it if you could please either switch off your mobile or turn it on silent throughout your consultation.
Toilets
Toilet facilities are located adjacent to the shared waiting area.
Parking
Ample car parking is available within our frontage or next door at Casey Family Practice. Please understand that there may be peak times with patients coming in and out of both practices where no car parking spaces will be available – off street parking around the corner to your left within the side street on Princes Hwy may be an option if this is the case.
